Each step of the production process is skillfully carried out in Cushendale’s historic mill, which stands in a spot where wool has been woven for over 800 years. Every attention is given to enhancing the texture of the fibres. Washing them in naturally soft water makes them irresistibly and distinctively touchable.

Throws and bed blankets are crafted from Irish wool, merino lambswool or mohair. Provenance is central to Cushendale’s philosophy, so the Irish wool is carefully sourced from local flocks of rare Galway sheep – Ireland’s only native breed. As the mill is one of just two in the country still using this wool to craft exquisite textiles using traditional methods, each finished piece is a tangible link to the past.
