Carla Murdoch’s ceramics are hand-thrown on the potter’s wheel and made from locally sourced stoneware clay. These neat tumblers are perfectly sized to be cupped in your hands.
The lichen glaze firing process creates a fine orange line at the edge of the glaze. The lower outer of the tumbler is left unglazed for a wonderful contrast in texture.
The tumbler measures approximately 8 cm diameter with a height of 7.5 cm.
Choose from this earthy lichen green shade, or the dramatic black glaze with golden and khaki tones in it.
“The Lichen glaze has a speckled finish from the rutile used in the glaze recipe. If you look closely at the glaze the rutile has worked with the copper to create little crystals, which sit in the glaze almost floating on the surface.” Carla Murdoch
